I'm Georgie. 16 y/o. Based in South-East Melbourne. Made a website just for the gits and shiggles. As of 2024, I'm in Year 11 VCE. Below is 3 of my personal favourite: Bikes, Cars, Exercises.
My personal favourite bikes are ones that feature affordable pricing, high performance, and reliability. An example is the Yamaha R1. It's a good bike, but other bike's like the Honda CBR 1000RR, BMW S1000RR and Ducati 848 Evo are also some very nice bikes. IMO, the Honda CBR 1000RR is a good bike for the money. It's fast, affordable, and still holds up a decent image. Not a fan of the Repsol design though. The orange and black colour scheme didn't age well. I'm also pretty fond of the sound. It's lower rpm's give it a deeper growl but higher up in the rev range, sounds much more sharper. The speed of the Honda CBR 1000RR is also great. It will reach 299 but can reach higher than the quoted speed on the speedo (300+). Moving onto the BMW S1000RR, the bike is much more technologically advanced compared to it's contemporaries. Features such as adaptive cruise control, heated grips and ABS as standard, give it overall much better stats. As a supersport, the bike has the 4cyl 1000cc motor. The motor is a big bore design, oversquare with lower stroke. It gives it slightly less torque compared to the undersquare style motors, but achieves much more horsepower. I personally like the overall design of the BMW S1000RR. It holds up its look and design even after being released back in 2008. Finally, the Ducati 848 Evo. By all means, not a fast bike. It's a decently quick bike. Being a Ducati, it's primary focus is based on track. I wouldn't bring the Ducati 848 Evo to top speed and expect it to hold up. The motor, being an L-Type, prioritises torque over horsepower. While this is a significant drawback for street use, the Ducati 848 Evo has far better performance on the track compared to bikes with larger engines and track focused features. The Ducati 848 Evo struggles to hit 280 with a long enough road. I would however prefer the Ducati 848 Evo in the case of track use. I'm not highly experienced in sport bikes, but my knowledge is primarily focused around car motors which can be seen in the next article. TLDR; Ducati 848 Evo for Track, Honda CBR 1000RR for reliability, BMW S1000RR for technology, and Yamaha R1 for an overall quick, tech-advanced and somewhat reliable bike.
Moving onto favourite cars. Being 16 in VIC, the choices for some affordable, quick, and advanced cars are slim. In Victoria, probationary prohibited vehicles are banned. Vicroads utilises the power the weight ratio to determine if a car is dangerous or safe. Along with this, they provide a general rule of thumb: No turbo, No V6, No V8 or above, and the previously mentioned power to weight ratio. While this can be an issue for some, there are people who are willing to ignore this in order to achieve the adrenaline high on the freeway. If I were to consider these restrictions, some options would include: BMW 123d E82, BMW 323i E92, Audi A4 & A6, Honda Integra, Toyota Celica, Mazda MX-5, and maybe the Lexus IS200. These are good cars with decent power to zip around. Unfortunately, they aren't quite fast enough to outrun Highway Patrol or Police Airwing. Highway Patrol is constantly on the lookout for different methods to catch streetracers. The truth is, speed isn't all that matters. External equipment such as: Radar Detectors, Ghost Mode Switches, and Radio Chatter systems are vital tools to streetracing. Police Airwing is an extremely dangerous tool with the Police. Currently, Police Airwing includes multiple AgustaWestland-AW139 and a single Beechcraft King Air 350ER. They are modified to fly at higher airspeeds (up to 290-300kp/h) and monitor ground activity at a safe distance. In simple, this means that to outrun the police, it's absolutely necessary to get a faster vehicle. These vehicles are banned, but believe me, there are people who have the balls to go fast. Cars include: BMW 335i E92, BMW 135i E82, Holden Commodore Ute SS, Ford Falcon XR-6 Turbo, and the BMW 645ci E63. These cars are wicked fast. They will comfortably reach speeds of 300 with some bolt-ons and possible internal modifications. Along with the comfort of being a car, these cars can house equipment such as Radar detectors, Ghost Mode Switches, and many more. Highway patrol now utilises heavily modified BMW and KIA based vehicles. While the performance cars can outrun the Highway Patrol, they would need much more power and technology to further evade Police Airwing. I would prefer a bike for any authority avoidance due to their slim nature and high performance. My first car is planned to be a E92 335i. Dream car would be the M3 E92. Unfortunately, there are individuals who assume they can achieve these speeds with no issues. They act confident and cocky, when in reality, they shit themselves when going 50 over. Thankfully, there are a some people who are genuine about going fast because of their skill level.
Finally, favourite exercises. I'm not a hardcore gymrat, but I do plan on improving my physique from fat to aesthetic. During COVID-19, I used to order in and eat KFC nearly everyday. This affected my body fat and my overall health. I am now in a 700~ calorie deficit. I haven't noticed to much weight loss, but I am noticing a significant increase in hypertrophy and strength in a majority of muscle groups. Enough whining, what's my favourite exercise? Me personally, I love training arms, specifically the biceps. I experience plenty of growth even after passing "newbie gains". I have naturally large arms and forearms. For some reason, I am not as interested in chest or back as others are. I prefer training the arms until failure. This is because the pump I end with is truly remarkable. My favourite exercise would have to be the EZ-Bar Preacher Curl. While I am using the EZ Bar, I maximise my bicep and forearm gains through the hyperextension and hyper retraction during the exercise. No momentum, no crazy high reps, no extremely intense weight. The burn kicks in around the 3rd set. I strongly believe in form over factor. This method will 100% maximise the growth of the targeted bicep. I know I'm not Jeff Nippard or Sam Sulek, but what I train works extremely effective for growth. The second favourite exercise is the Reverse Grip Barbell Curl. As you use extremely accurate form, the forearm burns like hell. The pump you will get from this is unparalleled. Nice slow reps is the key here. I do this exercise standing, but I utilise leaning against the wall to maximise my form. If done correctly, the gains come wicked fast. Finally, my third favourite exercise is the Straight Bar Pushdown. The pushdown is a great way to hit the triceps in a comfortable manner. There are plenty of variations and form style's for the pushdown, but I prefer the slightly bent and straight bar variation. It is a proper way to maintain the appropriate form and push some decent weight. I will be able to comfortably do 45.5kg for 4x10. IMO these are basically rookie numbers in the gym, so I have to do a lot of work to get up to speed with my contemporaries. But yeah, those are my favourite exercises.
